Emma and Aran | Huntstile Organic Farm
OK, a little later than planned, it’s time to blog Emma and Arans lovely Somerset wedding on the 28 August. Some of you may recognise the venue as Huntstile Organic Farm in Somerset (title kind of gives it away), a very popular spot for weddings at the moment. This was one of those wedding when the Sat-nav really helps (or not as the case may be), talk about winding country lanes, I eventually collared a local farmer for directions on the last couple of miles, after the usually reliable sat-nav took me on the scenic route (very scenic!). That leads me to an important tip for aspiring wedding photographers. Even if you’ve checked out the venue beforehand, time certainly clouds the directional senses; so it’s always a good plan to have plenty of time in hand. With this in mind, it’s not unusual for me to double the estimated travel times when going to a wedding; things can easily take much longer that anticipated.
Anyway, getting back to the wedding, I can honestly say this was a truly fun and enjoyable day, I really enjoyed photographing it. Laughter and games all the way through, with the very random team quiz being at the top of that list. Emma and Aran were particularly well turned out out, one of my favourite shots being the ‘back to front’ image (outside the blue timber chalet); not something that would work for every couple or wedding, but perfect in this instance. Also worthy of a special mention is Emma’s fantastic and unusual dress, the designed inspired by Emma’s love the Bow; large or small she loves she loves them all! Great dress Emma, love it.
